“A beautiful Chaos”
As Saturday morning prayer came to an end, we joined for the final prayer. I am so full from the worship, the word and my time in prayer. I only had the little's with me that morning and my youngest was a little busy. However, I was determined to get all God had for me. As we gather for the final prayer, my youngest decides to run off. Usually I would have ran after him. In this moment, I said "God he is yours, watch him." I finished prayer and now it is time to go. As I gather the little's, a sweet spirit approaches me to tell me of her encounter with my youngest. He approached her while we were praying and introduced himself as Spider-man. We shared a sweet laugh and she leaned in towards me. She whispered, “I’m sure this is total chaos at times, but you are doing it beautifully." I am not even sure if she realized what she was saying to me, but it woke up something on the inside of me. In life, we face all kind of obstacles and we juggle so many things. It can sometimes be a total chaos, but what I learned in that moment is that when we are lost in God he can make our chaos beautiful.
I juggle a lot, as I am sure you all do as well. There are days when life is very chaotic but every day I choose to face my chaos with joy and peace I make my chaos beautiful. Have you ever had a day that just started all wrong? Everything that could go wrong goes wrong. Even in the chaos, God is present. He is present when you run out of gas, when you catch a flat, when the kids are screaming and everything around you seems to be falling apart.
I am sure you are wondering how this is possible and how am I so sure. I will never forget the first time I visited my church, I had the best time only to leave and my truck not start. Right in that moment I thought no way God this is not happening. Just when I was about to get discouraged God sent two church members over to assist me. They made sure my children were ok and they checked out my car. Right in the midst of my chaos God sent his angels to settle the storm. When I ran out of gas with no money for gas, God sent a friend to fill my tank. He made my chaos beautiful. When I am trying to get to church on time with four kids. He makes my chaos beautiful. When I feel like I am not good enough, skinny enough, or pretty enough. He makes my chaos beautiful. When I walked through divorce and breaking the chain of dysfunction off my life. He made my Chaos beautiful. These are just a few of the ways God made my chaos beautiful. I would love you to share how he makes your chaos beautiful. Feel free to comment or email me.
When we take a step back from our own chaos, we can begin to see the beauty in our situations. In each one of those moments, I could have blown up, and got frustrated with God. Instead, I took a step back and in my pause, God stepped in, right where I needed him. Henry Brooks Adams said, ``Chaos often breeds life, when order breeds habit.'' Sometimes we go through life just going through the motions. Creating habits that keep us in line. It is not until those moments of chaos shake our lives up that we are truly able to live. Live in the peace that no matter what I come up against my God will supply all my needs. Life may seem chaotic but when you have the one who is complete, unchangeable, and perfect; your chaos becomes beautiful.
I leave you with two steps to finding the calm in your chaos.
1) Stand on Gods promises
Romans 23:19: God is not a man, that he might lie, or a son of man, that he might change his mind. Does he speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?
2) Believe his word to be true and do not waiver from it.
Job 23:13-14: But he is unchangeable; who can oppose him? He does what he desires. 14 He will certainly accomplish what he has decreed for me, and he has many more things like these in mind.
When we stand on Gods promises and believe them to be true, we have His peace. Therefore, whatever your chaos, allow God to make it beautiful.
I'm SOOOO late on this post, but it JUST BLESSED ME SOOO MUCH!!! You KNOW everything around me is chaotic right now and has been for a while now planning this wedding. But God's grace and mercy has TRULY been Beautiful! Just when I feel like I want to break down, I get a phone call, or a text from someone who is connected to Him, sharing with me to keep my focus on Him. Just this morning it happened, last night was a bit rough, woke up still in my feelings, then I received a beautiful text from my cousin. Sometimes those little reminders are the boost we need to keep going with a smile on our face…
