We attended the bubble run this summer and had an absolute blast! This was a great way to create memories with my children and cultivate a healthier lifestyle. I am trying to incorporate being more active to create good habits for my children. This was the second year we participated in the bubble run and so glad we did. I am choosing to create these memories with my children so that they always have them. What I have learned as a parent is that time is more important verses things. We can buy our children all the things in the world but none of it would matter at the end of the day.
Has your child ever begged for a toy they just had to have? Only to find that same toy on the floor a week later. Things are nice and we love to get things, but it's the moments we create that last forever.
So my charge to you today, is to start making those memories with your children. The best things in life are the people you love, the places you’ve been, and the memories you’ve made along the way.
In this year alone we have visited Chicago, Illinois, San Diego, California, explored the Indiana State Fair, painted pottery, visited The Indianapolis Zoo, enjoyed cheering on our Indiana Pacers and Fever, caught a few movies, visited some local parks, and volunteered at a homeless shelter. Each event felt like a true adventure that my children will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Start today!
I'm sure you are wondering how did all this happen as I am a single mom of four. I will surely let you know #1 it is by the grace of God that allows me to do any of this. Secondly, I always shop for the bargain! Look for the free events in your city or the early bird registrations. Visit a local park play board games, go to church events, etc. I've said this before my children have the option of a birthday party or an experience. Sometimes those experiences lead us out of our state. Whatever you do enjoy the time with your little people they grow up so fast. Feel free to message me for ideas on what to do with your crew.
Blessings,
Monique
